Organizing chaos

We have a storage problem with all the stuff that we have at home. Earlier this month we did the first step to organizing all the chaos - our shoes. It's always a pain to balance several boxes of different sizes and proportions, some of them sturdy, most of them flimsy. So this results to a couple of "leaning towers," primarily in My Bibe's case. On my end, though, I don't have much of a problem since the shoe boxes are nearly the same dimensions, except for the flimsiness of those from Zara.

Since last December we've been buying these plastic boxes for our shoes (they were buy 1, take 1!), then went back for more after realizing they weren't enough. The result:

We still have towers but at least they're no longer leaning, and they make it easier to look for shoes since the plastic is see-through. We also plan to photograph each pair and have a printout stuck to each box for even easier identification. But since none of those boxes could accommodate my shoes, I had to settle for these:

My Bibe and I now agreed to limit our shoes to the boxes that we have. So if we buy additional pairs, we need to part with some. Fair enough. Now off to the next phase.
