Travel with at least one less worry

It's always a great thing to be in some other place, be it an island, a nature resort, or simply another urban jungle. It's always great to wake up to the sound of splashing waves, birds chirping, or to a fantastic view like this:

But every traveler knows all too well that not everything's nice and rosy when traveling. Gone are the days when flying or boarding a luxury liner meant prestige of sorts that everyone had to dress up. Today, traveling can be as inconvenient as it can get. There's the endless queuing, flight delays, exaggerated airport security measures, screaming kids -- it's a long list.

And sometimes, even dealing with foreign currency can be a hassle. There's always some planning involved there, checking out currency exchange rates and all. Sure you can always charge everything to your credit card but there will always be times when cash is needed. Besides, if you're the type of traveler who works around a budget, then using your plastic every time can easily lead to overspending without you even realizing it until you receive your billing statement. Que horror!

For some reason I'm at my busiest right before I go on a holiday. I think it's because I have to take care of a lot of things at work, deadlines and all, so I don't have to worry about anything while I'm away. For me buying foreign currency entails going to the bank way before my scheduled trip, which I don't really relish. I know banks don't always offer the best rates but I'm just not trusting enough with all those money changers around.

Now that became a problem for me at one point because on one particular trip when I was on my way to the airport, I realized I didn't have enough dollars with me. Oh, the consequence of my procrastination about going to the bank! If only I had known about services like Travelex Swiss before, I didn't have to leave my office desk. I could have just reserved foreign currency online and simply pick it up at any of their stores upon my arrival. I mean, they're in airports all over.

It's also cool that they have this "Buy Back Plus" program where you exchange your unused foreign currency within 31 days and they'll exchange it at the foreign currency purchase price for a minimum fee. So what, you might ask. It may not be for everyone but this may come in handy in case of unfavorable forex movements.

So that's one less worry the next time around. Now all I'll have to worry about are the long lines.

  3. My dad's known about this service for awhile so my traveling's been pretty chill, even when I'm alone haha. I think I'm a chill person in general, so even if stressful stuff does happen to me, it slides off my shoulders in an instant. However, I do concur about long airport lines. For some reason, I've only seen those in the Philippines. WHY COUNTRY, WHY!?!?!?

btw, I'M BACK! I haven't been able to catch up on your blog in ages. Blame a busy college life. Glad to be able to read about your escapades and fashion adventures again though. It's good to be back.
