Halloween family portrait: Goldilocks and the three bears
So last Halloween I showed up to work as some kind of a fashionable bear, and I had a blast! But I was just one of three bears with a little kid named Goldilocks. Yup, this was our theme for Halloween with My Bibe and the cats. Presenting...Goldilocks and the Three Bears!
I was Papa Bear, My Bibe was Mama Bear, our fluffy white cat Kwittie Boy was Baby Bear, and our little black cat Foreman was Goldilocks. I kept telling him that he was the first black Goldilocks, that he should be proud.
Well, it wasn't easy at all. We didn't have anyone to take our photos nor did I have a remote for the camera. So I set up a tripod, placed the camera on a 20-second timer, and rushed to put on my bear head and pick up Goldilocks, and then pose! And I had to do it repeatedly.
We had two paranoid and very uncooperative cats. They were persistently trying to slither their way out of our embrace, clawing at random, tugging at their leashes, tirelessly moving here and there -- you get the picture.
It was a headache!
Well, to be fair, they really didn't consent to this, but we insisted anyway. There were times we thought we had a good shot only to see that Foreman's wig was out of place, or Kwittie Boy's bear head was rotated a-la Linda Blair in The Exorcist, Foreman's leash was covering his face, and all sorts of stuff. It didn't help that I really couldn't see much from my bear head. I had very limited view.
It soon started to get dark and there wasn't enough light to shoot more pictures. So we had to let the cats go, and they instantly scampered back inside the house.
It was hard but it sure was a lot of fun. For us, but not for the cats.
