[Lookbook 02.03.2013] The flag bearer
I originally thought of bringing a Barong Tagalog to our recent trip to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, thinking I'd go walking around the heritage resort and do a personal photo shoot, but I decided against it. Instead, I brought my almost-three year-old Philippine flag-inspired polo shirt from Collezione C2 that I simply paired with shorts and flip-flops (I realized walking on cobblestone wasn't much of a pleasure).
Although this flag design, along with its Philippine map cousin, were once selling like hotcakes and even copied by other brands, they were simply a fad. I mean, I don't really see people wearing them anymore, and even Collezione has moved on to other designs.
As I've mentioned in an old lookbook post, this once-popular polo shirt first burst into the scene during the May 2010 elections when the company outfitted all field reporters of ABS-CBN, which I thought was a really clever move. Maybe Collezione will come up with something again soon since its election time again this May? We'll see.
And oh, these two here aren't from Las Casas anymore. When we arrived in Makati that afternoon, we dropped by The Collective in Malugay Street for some mochi before heading home. There was nary a person in sight, so we thought of posing by the graffiti.
Happy weekend, everyone!
