Bootie call

I just finished cleaning up two of my boots. I haven't worn them in a while so I decided to check them out, planning to wear them soon because it's been raining again lately. But to my horror I found molds on them. Ugh!

I like boots. I feel like they lend me some degree of badassery. But of course they come in different shapes and styles, not just the usual leather lace-ups. Here are a few of my picks for you:

Clockwise from top:
(1)
Dearborn NYC wingtip boots by John Varvatos Star USA. I love the contrast between the formality of the broguing and the casualness of the aged leather.
(2)
Leather lace-up boots by Viktor & Rolf. This is simply badass.
(3)
Richmond boots by Bespoken. It's a classic design that I like given a touch of attitude with some camo canvas trim.

Then there are boots that are cut shorter, or ankle boots if you may. This shorter design allows us to wear them to work--perhaps with a suit and tie--without looking fashionably challenged. I do wear boots like these on occasion and they're just perfect.

(1)
Dove ankle boots, PS by Paul Smith. I just love how sleek and minimalist this one looks.
(2)
Low country boots by Mark McNairy New Amsterdam. Tough sole and classy wingtip design.
(3)
Gunther lace-up boots by Opening Ceremony. I like the contrast between the sleek pebbled leather and the cork midsoles here.
(4)
Cruise desert boots, H by Hudson. I'm just loving the shape of this one.

Of course we can also have some color in our boots, lots of them even. You can also throw in some animal print for that edgy look. Or how about suede?

(1)
Alberto chukka boots by Wolverine 1883. It's cowhide leather with the comfort of a sneaker. Color's great, too.
(2)
Tennis ball chukkas by Del Toro. But of course, it looks like an orange tennis ball! Cute!
(3)
Jupiter chukka boots by Paul Smith Jeans. Leopard print--why not?
(4)
Chukka boots by Mark McNairy New Amsterdam. And just when you thought a leopard print was edgy, here comes a giraffe print. Hah!

Top to bottom:
(1)
3-eye chukkas by SeaVees. A cool offering from the California brand, with contrasting laces.
(2)
Orville leather desert boots by Wolverine 1883. Suede in an olive color? Love it! Plus those leather trimmings don't hurt.

Now what else can your boot be? Well, you can have that feel of wearing high-cut creepers if you want. Rubber's also good. Better yet, a leather and rubber combo that will go perfectly in winter.

Clockwise from top-left:
(1)
Fred wingtip boots by Grenson. The oversize brogue details and the thick rubber sole make for some really good creepers. Only they're boots.
(2)
Gunnar lace-up boots by Tretorn. I can imagine this utilitarian rubber boot having the comfort of sneakers. And man, those soles are dope!
(3)
Caribou WL boots by Sorel. With a cowhide leather upper part and a vulcanized rubber shell, and the insides comfortably lined with Australian lamb shearling, these boots are made for winter, man.
