Yup, this is how I blog.
I recently scored a few polo shirts from local brand Collezione C2, and I was pleased with their new designs. After hitting it big a few years back with their My Pilipinas (My Philippines) shirts, where they used the map of the Philippines as an embroidered logo on their polos (think Lacoste's croc logo), then later on with their different takes on the Philippine flag, it's been relatively quiet for the brand in the last couple of years.
Alone in a deserted bar, watching a PBA game on TV and wondering what the hell is Mahindra (apparently it's a team playing in the PBA).
Earlier this year Collezione C2 named Filipino designer JC Buendia its new creative director. After the map and the flag were exhausted in the brand's past creations, Buendia now tapped into yet another national symbol, the sampaguita. Often seen as garlands hung around many a religious statue or sold by children on the streets, the tiny, white, fragrant beauty is also regarded as the Philippines's national flower.
Launched earlier this year, "The Sampaguita Collection" features both embroidered and printed iterations of the national flower across several designs, both subtle and prominent. The tiny floral embroideries are really adorable. They also offer endless design possibilities because they can be positioned and clustered anywhere on a polo. Sweet!
Wearing tiny flowers.
Look how subtle the sampaguita embroideries are.
The collection does look like a runaway hit because the pieces I saw on Instagram were either out of stock or were no longer available in my size. So I settled for this gray polo with three embroidered sampaguitas randomly scattered on its upper left side and sleeve. Not bad at all.
And in tune with the polo's subtle design, I kept everything else low-key with my outfit; hence, the black shorts and black sneaks. It may still be casual by all means but a polo is certainly dressier than any t-shirt. As for keeping the polo all buttoned up, why not?
Happy kid by the Christmas tree.
So much cuteness!
Er, the Mad Hatter?
Found a new buddy who walked me through the shops.
Though still casual, a polo shirt is always still dressier than a t-shirt.
Flowers--no matter how teeny weeny--still not your thing? Don't worry because they've got loads more stuff in their stores. So far I'm loving what I'm seeing from this JC Buendia x Collezione C2 collab and I can't wait to wear the rest of the stuff from my little loot.
