[Lookbook 08.16.2012] Cuffed, collared, and all tied up

It's been a while since my last outfit post. Well, a week in the hospital and another week or so of daily trips to the ER for my daily dose of IV-administered antibiotics, plus weeks of extremely wet weather -- not to mention floods -- do take their toll on one's enthusiasm. But now the sun is back, the weather's better, and I'm done with my treatment, so it's about time.

It's not really the most striking outfit or anything. It's kind of subdued actually, but I like how the collar and cuffs contrast the rest of this striped shirt. It's also been ages since I last donned a tie, I believe, so I wore one here. The shirt's stripes are dark gray leaning on black, and the tie's obviously black. But I didn't want to be too matchy-matchy, so I slipped into a pair of blue trousers rather than in something black or gray. Subtle enough, I guess, though I kept the shoes and belt both black. I'll save the more colorful stuff for next time.

Now I'm looking forward to a great long weekend ahead.
