FRAGRANCE | Individuel by Mont Blanc

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for scents. I mean, I never really leave the house without putting on some cologne or EDT. However, I try hard not to open too many bottles at once. It should only be two or three in rotation at any given time.

So just recently I was happy to have finally opened my bottle of Individuel by Mont Blanc that I got last December. Yes, it's been more than half a year already and I'm only using it now. I should be rewarded for my discipline.

I'm no expert at perfumery but Individuel initially gives out a fresh, slightly sharp smell when first sprayed. Credit that to its top notes of bergamot, mint, and a slew of other floral and fruity scents. Raspberry is quite noticeable but it's just the right amount to give flavor to the fragrance. Eventually the freshness gives way to a deeper, more earthy scent as its base notes of amber, vanilla, and musk come to life.

Despite its complexity, Individuel is not a heavy scent to wear. It sits just fine in a tropical climate like here in the Philippines as it does in cooler temperatures. As for longevity, it does a pretty good job that easily puts Dolce & Gabbana's The One to shame. I'm just not comfortable enough with the bottle. I feel like I could drop it any time when holding it.

Nevertheless, Mont Blanc did a great job with Individuel. It's my first Mont Blanc EDT and I'm happy that I bought it. It's something I'd definitely use again and recommend guys trying.

    I'm using this scent on all occasions and I got a lot of compliments. This is the second best colonge for me. (My first pick never fails me on a date and notice by almost everybody I pass by but it's not the subject here so I'll keep it as a secret for now) Anyway this Mont Blanc colonge is a blast!!! Seriously some stranger people say hi and ask what colonge I'm using and It feels good and add confidence wherever I go.

FRAGRANCE | Green Cedar EDT by Bench: An environmentally-conscious offering from the Philippines' premier retail brand

A few weeks ago, I found myself wandering inside Bench Powerplant Mall. And what else would catch my eye but two fragrances by their lonesome twosome, positioned far away from the rest of the brand's scent offerings. They're Basil & Neroli and Green Cedar , both EDTs and part of the  Bench Better Made line . The frags are purported to be vegan and cruelty-free. They come in 125ml dark brown glass bottles and brown paper cylindrical boxes. Nice packaging there except for the cheap, plastic cap. No big deal, though, since they're just Php 428 apiece.

FRAGRANCE | Rajo Uno EDT by Bench: An inexpensive local gem

Philippine retail giant Bench has been many a high schooler's go-to shop for cheap colognes, myself included. And even during my college years, Bench has remained a staple. I remember  Bench Ei8ht was very popular with many people back then although my favorites were their body sprays Cielo and L'Amoureux . Through the years their roster of fragrances has only grown by leaps and bounds, with a lot of them made in collaboration with celebrities and fashion designers like Rajo Laurel .
