LOOKBOOK | Velvet and waffles

No, this isn't something I'd just wear while walking along the streets of Metro Manila. Not in this heat, no. But in an air-conditioned office, yes, more so when it's gloomy or raining outside, in which case it becomes even colder.

I'm making a conscious effort to wear my suits more often--mostly dressed down, of course--and I thought it was time to bring out this reddish brown velvety suit once more.

Underneath it I wore a waffle sweater. It's but one way to keep things interesting with your knitwear, especially up close. The fabric's pattern and texture already speak volumes, which is why waffle sweaters (and waffle shirts) almost always come in solid colors.

For footwear I picked these two-toned lace-ups. Both the rusty orange and brown complement the suit's color just fine. The socks are a cross between purple and maroon, approximating the suit's color but still keeping it distinct. I know the socks are supposed to match your pants, and that's as close as I can get.
