LIFESTYLE | New mall find: ScentSmith Perfumery (Greenbelt 5)
Perfumes on display at ScentSmith.
It's always a joy to discover new scents and brands, and it's even greater joy when it's a homegrown brand that you stumble upon. Well, hello there, ScentSmith Perfumery!
Located at Greenbelt 5, ScentSmith has been on soft opening since August. The store--their first--sports a sort of industrial look with bare concrete walls and floor, exposed dark-painted beams, and metal shelves. The look is reinforced with dark brown bottles, which both serve as decor and product packaging. Lighting is warm and ambient.

Dark brown bottles everywhere.
The sucker for fragrances that I am, I went straight to the perfumes section. ScentSmith has 12 offerings so far--all EDPs--4 each for women, men, and unisex. They're all numbered: 101-104 for women, 201-204 for men, and 301-304 for unisex. There'll be more eventually, I was told, so I expect the list to grow.
The fragrances did not disappoint, at least based on initial impression. With much restraint, I got 2 bottles, plus I'll also be using the unisex frag Kwittiegirl got. Quality is promising, though I have yet to road-test them and do a proper review. Either way, they're not bad for Php 1,198 a bottle (100ml).
The men's offerings: Pink Pepper Leather, Apple Geranium, Lavandin Sandalwood, and Saffron Oud.
The ladies's offerings: Bergamot Patchouli, Mandarin Amber, Raspberry Gardenia, and White Magnolia.
Unisex frags: Citrus Vetiver, Pepper Guaiac Wood, Ambrette Sea Salt, and Lavender Tonka.
ScentSmith usually mixes your fragrances in-store, complete with label bearing your name and the date they were made. It's fun to watch actually.
Levi (did I remember her name right?) preparing one of my fragrances.
Oh, yeah, personalized label!
I'll review these two soon.
Perfumes are just one of ScentSmith's product lines. They have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body oil, room scents, and even loo drops. Yes, for your toilet.
Shampoo.
Body lotion.
Aroma diffuser.
Loo drops!
With Beng and Levi of ScentSmith, who were very accommodating and helpful.
We left the store with a number of goodies in hand. Okay, maybe a tad too many goodies. But we wanted to try as many of their offerings as possible, so it's all good.
Although there's no final date yet, ScentSmith is set to have its grand opening sometime October.
Update:
They finally had their grand launch last November 8, 2018, along with the release of several new fragrances like Grapefruit Amber and more.
