FRAGRANCE | Clarins Eau Ressourcante: A scent of calm that we all probably need sometimes
I wouldn't normally think of fragrances when I see Clarins but one time I just decided to check one of their stores out and see what they have. After all, Clinique, another popular skin care brand, has a respectable roster of fragrances. So I found two, one of which is Eau Ressourcante, packaged in a roundish flat bottle in a very nice shade of blue.
My first impression was that it smells like lotion. Well, the gift box that I got came with a tube of lotion with the same name but I don't know, it's what immediately came to mind when I first sniffed it. Then a minty lemon starts coming forward shortly before the scent takes on an herbal turn. It develops quickly into this clean and fresh scent that's neither an aquatic or a citrus freshie. I think it's this underlying minty, herbal lotion-like character that makes Eau Ressourcante a little different.
It doesn't seek to impress, let alone compete with prestige fragrances in the market. Instead, it invites calm, which is something we all need from time to time. It's not a loud fragrance but it lasts for a good few hours. In my case it goes from morning till afternoon and I never worry about overspraying because of its totally inoffensive profile. I can't say it's a must-have but sometimes, a fragrance like Eau Ressourcante is just what you need.
