FRAGRANCE | I'm missing the tea in Commodity Tea EDP

halfwhiteboy - Commodity Tea EDP 02

These squarish boxes from Commodity sure take up much space in our drawers. But since I'm a sucker for presentation and I want to keep my fragrances in their boxes, I just have to deal with it. It's just sad that the house folded up, so today I pulled Commodity Tea out of hiding.

Tea is a misnomer because no matter how close I stick my nose up to the back of my wrist, I don't get tea. Instead, a blend of citruses come marching in at the onset. It carries with it a mild sweetness and very little acidity. A clean floral mix follows shortly, which grows stronger by the minute before peaking at around 1 to 2 hours and then hurriedly weakens thereafter. The citruses linger for a while with the florals while losing some of their already mild acidity in the process.

The sweetness grows just a little stronger by time yet the overall scent remains fresh and clean. I don't get any sticky feeling from it in spite of seriously warm temperatures. It is feminine-leaning but if you're comfortable with florals, then it shouldn't be any problem. It's not very lasting, so it's most likely that you'll need extra spritzes to get you through the day.

Commodity Tea is not a bad fragrance at all but because of the name, I'm really eager to smell the tea in it. Commodity Whiskey also has a similar problem. By no means is it boozy. If the third Commodity fragrance that I try ends up just like this, then maybe it's their thing after all.
