LOOKBOOK | At-home comfort with fisherman's shorts

One and a half years into the pandemic and one and a half years working from home and I still haven't fulfilled my intent of somehow dressing up even while in the comforts of home. I do put on the occasional buttoned shirt or polo for cam-on meetings but for the most part it's just t-shirt and shorts. 

Today it's still t-shirt and shorts but I gave it a minor spin with fisherman's shorts, which I've had for more than ten years now. They're comfy but I admit that shorts with zippers or garters are much easier to manage than this. Just the same, I hope this helps set things in motion in terms of making even the slightest of efforts in dressing up for workdays at home.

A few weeks ago, I found myself wandering inside Bench Powerplant Mall. And what else would catch my eye but two fragrances by their lonesome twosome, positioned far away from the rest of the brand's scent offerings. They're Basil & Neroli and Green Cedar , both EDTs and part of the  Bench Better Made line . The frags are purported to be vegan and cruelty-free. They come in 125ml dark brown glass bottles and brown paper cylindrical boxes. Nice packaging there except for the cheap, plastic cap. No big deal, though, since they're just Php 428 apiece.

TRAVEL | Sipalay's Sugar Beach: A beach far, far away

Being an archipelago, it's no surprise that the Philippines is home to a lot -- and I mean, a lot -- of great beaches. But the idea that there are also a few good ones in the southern part of Negros Occidental in the Visayas seems largely unheard of for most Filipinos. One of these is the kilometer-long Sugar Beach in the city of Sipalay , a land far, far away. The lovely Sugar Beach. FRAGRANCE | Rajo Uno EDT by Bench: An inexpensive local gem

Philippine retail giant Bench has been many a high schooler's go-to shop for cheap colognes, myself included. And even during my college years, Bench has remained a staple. I remember  Bench Ei8ht was very popular with many people back then although my favorites were their body sprays Cielo and L'Amoureux . Through the years their roster of fragrances has only grown by leaps and bounds, with a lot of them made in collaboration with celebrities and fashion designers like Rajo Laurel .
