LOOKBOOK | 75 years of Bruce Lee with Giordano

Image
Clothing brand Giordano has been revving up its image of late, which includes licensing deals for producing limited edition t-shirts. After getting hold of a couple of shirts from the Giordano x Voltes V collection , now I got another one, this time from the Giordano x Bruce Lee collection . (Well, Kwittiegirl also got one.)

LOOKBOOK | 19Dec2015: 40 years of Voltes V

Star Wars may undoubtedly be white hot right now but yes, that's a Voltes V t-shirt I'm wearing right there. The George Lucas-created space opera is arguably drowning out everything else with merchandising deals left and right, including several with various clothing brands (and of course I got a Darth Vader t-shirt !). Meanwhile, the classic party of five anime is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Thankfully there's Giordano to help us relive fun times with Voltes V.

Some people can really get on one's nerves. They're like mosquitoes that, no matter how many times you shoo them away, they still insist on pestering you. And so there's no other solution left but to spray insecticide on them. But of course we can't do that with humans. I don't want to think about it anymore. Move on with happy thoughts...happy thoughts... Today I was hoping for the same cold weather as yesterday. Unfortunately it didn't come. But at least it was still cooler than what we normally have in this tropical country of ours. The office air conditioning was still cold, though, so the scarf (which I just recently bought from Bench) came in handy in the absence of a jacket. It's a simple outfit, actually, with the shoes being the only item that gives this ensemble some oomph. But then it's also a good thing to have just one statement piece while keeping everything else understated.

I realized that today is my dad's birthday. I don't really know where he is right now; perhaps somewhere in Copenhagen. I don't have any communication with him and I haven't seen him since I was, like, seven or eight.  After my parents's divorce, my single piece of communication with my dad was a letter from him back when I was a freshman in college (I wrote him first). I still remember how I felt then. But when I wrote back, with high hopes of reconnecting with him, I never got an answer. I guess that was it.

My thighs are pretty sore from jogging and walking last night. It was expected, of course, because I haven't had any physical activity in months. With my body jolted out of "hibernation," I expect the soreness to linger for another day or two. But that shouldn't deter me from pursuing another jog-and-walk tomorrow. I really have to. Today I'm wearing a V-neck knit number from Giordano. I paired it with one of my trusty finds from MBK in Bangkok. It's got no specific brand, actually, and I couldn't care less. It's the cut I love most about these pants. The blazer, on the other hand, is from Topman.

It was quickly becoming another uneventful day until I noticed a very particular email subject in my inbox this morning. It was from Ayala Cinemas telling me I won two tickets to Stomp for this Friday's show at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). I just saw maybe two weeks ago that there was a contest over at sureseats.com and I joined, then completely forgot about it. Now that was unexpected. Today I wore brown pants from Havana & Co. that I got long ago from Prima Linea. I tried to veer away even just a bit from falling into an all-brown ensemble by wearing a gray Giordano pullover. And since it's so plain, I accessorized with an owl necklace that I sequestered from My Bibe . But that's about it because I put on a light brown jacket from Hallway and brown lace-ups from Zara. At least something isn't brown. And oh, the socks (from Urban Outfitters) aren't brown, too!

[Project Look Book - Weekend] Saturday, September 17, 2011

My Bibe and I hied off to Tagaytay last Saturday. Since we really didn't get to celebrate my birthday, we thought we'd spend the weekend there. We stayed at T House Tagaytay , where it was our first time ( I'll post a review soon ). But before checking in, we did the usual thing first: have a late lunch with  bulalo  (a beef, bone marrow and vegetable soup) somewhere. This time it was at Antonio's Grill. The rest of the day we spent just inside our room, leaving it momentarily only for a massage and then dinner. Although it rained a couple of times that day, the Tagaytay upland breeze still wasn't that cool. So I was perfectly okay in my outfit that day.

I finally got me my own razor blade necklace from Bosquejo Jewelry ! I first saw one on the fabulous Andre Judd over at lookbook.nu  a couple of weeks ago and was instantly captivated. Googling, I found out that they were sold at Anthology at the Powerplant Mall in Rockwell. They're designed by young Filipino entrepreneur Miguel Paolo Celestial. I've been too lazy to go to Rockwell, though, much to my regret because they've increased their prices only last Saturday! Grrr! But I had no choice; I wanted one and I was already there. The piece that I'm wearing here is Alecto from the line's "Furies" collection. It's made of stainless steel razor pendants, nuts and bolts, and nickel-coated beads and fasteners -- and damn, are they heavy! Because of my procrastination, however, what should have been 1,800 pesos ($42) cost me 350 ($8) more. That amount may sound low to some but for the average Filipino (including me!), it's a bit high already. O...

The string of rainy days finally came to a halt today. And while it's been bright and sunny outside, the air conditioning in the office was unusually cold today -- and I loved it! I know there are people who disagree or who are just not into it, but today's outfit is a black and brown combination. Yes, I dared. And truth be told, it's not really an issue for me, this black with brown thing. The black pullover is from Giordano, the brown pants from Dansen at SM Department Store, and the brown leather lace-ups are from Zara. The light brown jacket is a really old one. The tag says "Hallway," and I remember I got it from such a store in Market! Market!   The necklace is Aldo. See more photos after the jump.

It's been a fun day. There was food and more food. Even when there was work to do, the atmosphere seemed light. Oh how I love fridays. And of course, My Bibe 's home now, back from Iloilo. My outfit today was pretty simple with just jeans and a polo shirt. The polo was one of about four or five that I got from a Giordano store in HK last year. I just thought I'd wear some color today. The jeans are Topman that I folded around the hem. I'm also wearing sneakers by S***r (Swear) and a striped red belt from Polo Ralph Lauren. And after five straight days of wearing contact lenses, I thought I had to rest my eyes a bit, hence, the glasses from Kenneth Cole. More photos after the jump.

Jeans on a Monday? Uhuh. Well, we're playing bowling later with everyone in the department, and we were allowed to wear jeans provided we didn't have any meetings. Might I say I look thin in the photo above? Must be the Pringles and DQ over the weekend. But I'm definitely not complaining. Despite the license to wear jeans, though, I didn't want to go all out on a typical Friday look. In a feeble attempt to dress things up a bit, I wore a polo shirt from Concepts1One by Giordano. I like it in the sense that it's dressier than most polos. It also sports an undersized collar with buttonholes.

Today we were playing with my officemate's new reflector and we tried shooting against the light with no flash and with only the reflector to augment the lack of well, light. Other than that it was a pretty lazy day for me in terms of picking today's outfit. I basically just plucked this Giordano pullover from my closet, put on these gray Topman pants, and almost fell prey again to slipping on another pair of black shoes. And then I thought of this pair that I've only worn once so far this year. I got it from now-closed Theodore's. Good thing it did rain today and skies were overcast for the most part. Otherwise, my pullover would have been totally out of place in the summer.

Yahoo! I'm wearing new shoes today! They're from Pedro. Got them over the weekend at Bonifacio High Street in Makati while looking for a dry bag. Yes, the purchase was unplanned - an "accident" as I would like to call it. But I don't get to go to BHS that often, plus there ain't any other Pedro stores in Makati. At least I was able to restrain myself from getting another pair. And because the shoes are quite loud enough already, I kept everything else simple today with a pullover from Giordano and black pants that I got from Bangkok.

Opted for a relaxed fit today. No slim-fitting anything. Got these pants from People R People a long time ago. It's not the ideal fit for me but it didn't and doesn't matter. Never bothered to shorten them either. How relaxed is the fit? Here goes when I'm standing:

This side... Or this? Anyways...just happy to be back at work after being down with a terrible migraine yesterday. The jacket's from Topman that I haven't worn since getting it last January. Black pants, Zara; black leather lace-ups from Aldo. There's also a knit short-sleeved shirt underneath the jacket from Giordano Concepts (but why am I even mentioning this when you can't see it?).

Sported a casual look today with this Giordano knit pullover. I originally planned to dress it up with a suit jacket but unfortunately left it at home. So when the airconditioning became too cold for comfort, I just slipped this Maldita Man jacket on that's been hanging on my chair since yesterday:
