LOOKBOOK | Casually walking around the house

Image
I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that we'll be reporting back to the office soon. Working from home has been good for me, a blessing actually. The problem is that I've become so used to wearing what normal people wear at home (with the occasional "half-body" dressing up for cam-on meetings of course) that I'm not sure if I still know how to wear shoes. I don't even know if they're still okay to begin with.

LOOKBOOK | More of summer with prints and linen

Image
Summer ain't letting up just yet in this part of the world, another reason to take yet another printed short-sleeve shirt for a spin. This one is fun because it's got pirate ships, octopuses, fish, and other marine life. You'd think it's an ocean-themed print but no, because it also has flowers, palm trees, and colorful birds. But who cares? All these make for a collectively striking visual set against a dark blue background.

LOOKOOK | Sail away casually in the city

Printed shirts have become a no-brainer summer staple for most of us. Aside from the usual loud designs everywhere, I once mentioned that you can also go with micro-patterns or more specifically, micro-florals . But how about we find a middle ground with patterns that are not so big but not so small either? Case in point: this white short-sleeve shirt with sailboat patterns that are the perfect in-between in terms of size.

LOOKBOOK | Office-casual peacock

I'm such a peacock, yes. So let's take this forgotten peacock feather printed shirt for a spin, which I haven't worn in a really long while. About time, right?

LOOKBOOK | Cuban feels again

Image
I'm wearing this printed Cuban shirt again. The last time I wore it I followed a brown color scheme where I paired it with khaki pants, brown belt, and brown shoes. It's probably the most obvious route with this shirt's print.

LOOKBOOK | Cuban feels

Image
Where's my coffee? The Cuban collar shirt --or sometimes referred to simply as Cuban shirt --definitely exudes tropicana cool. That said, it's a sure bet when putting together that perfect summer outfit . Whether plain or printed, this shirt is characterized by its open, lapel-like collar and short sleeves. It usually has a boxy fit although some modern iterations are trimming the silhouette just a notch. This relaxed vibe clearly speaks of summer and the tropics.

LOOKBOOK | Surviving summer with a batik motif shirt

Image
Rooted in Southeast Asian tradition, most prominently Indonesian, the beauty and diversity of batik patterns are worth celebrating. I'm happy Uniqlo adapted it into easy-to-wear lightweight shirts as part of their 2018 Spring/Summer Batik Motif Collection .

FASHION | 9 Instagram accounts for your buttoned shirts this summer

Recently I featured 5 local indie brands on Instagram where you can score swim shorts this summer. Now your OOTD wouldn't be complete without a nice summer-themed shirt , right? I know you can go shirtless on the beach and all but you can't be a total showoff all the time, now would you? So here are 9 local indie brands on Instagram where you can get a new batch of buttoned shirts for summer . Because we also need to cover up sometimes.

LOOKBOOK | Wearing butterflies

Image
As staples in every man's wardrobe, plain shirts afford the wearer ease in pairing things up and accessorizing. They're like blank canvasses that you can build on each time. Printed shirts , on the other hand, usually demand attention, even more when they're loud and colorful. So when putting together an outfit, the key is to find pieces that complement, rather than compete with, printed shirts. Now how do we deal with butterflies?

LOOKBOOK | The suited peacock

Image
You know one of those personality tests to know whether you're a panther, peacock, dolphin or owl? No surprise, I'm a peacock , described as colorful, exciting, fun, quick-witted, and adventurous. They're said to be natural entertainers. Well, the first time I took the test eons ago I was half-peacock and half-panther. Panthers are natural leaders and motivators, and are focused, outspoken, big thinkers, and also adventurous. I guess over the years I shed some of my fur and grew more feathers instead. So I got this handsome black shirt with a peacock feather print a while back, which I think represents me very well. You can say I'm embracing my personality wholeheartedly without an iota of denial anywhere.
