I haven't been on a plane for more than two years primarily because of the pandemic. Now the drought has finally ended because I had to spend time with family. I wasn't too keen on going full-on resort wear because of the cloudy (and occasionally rainy) weather, so I just went with a t-shirt and shorts combo. The mules , however, added a bit of fancy to an otherwise uninspired outfit. And oh, I'm wearing a cap, which is so not me.

Light sweater with a nice combination of stripes . It's got gray, olive, yellow, and white, making it a very versatile piece because it allows you to pair it with a host of different colors. I once wore this with khaki pants and a brown blazer , hues that work with yellow, green, and even gray.

I know, it's funny that I'm wearing a coat in a tropical country. But I'm just trying to cope with this manufactured indoor winter at the office. While I don't understand why they can't bring it to a comfortable temperature, I'm looking at the bright side—I can wear a coat .

A striped kind of day. Whether thick and bold or thin and subtle, stripes always add a little something to an otherwise plain, if not boring, top. And while the fail-safe route in wearing it is with something plain, doubling up the stripes factor can also work in certain cases.

I just posted about wearing stripes on stripes and cautioned against pairing verticals and horizontals. Now I'm wearing stripes again and turns out I'm doing just that--pairing verticals and horizontals. Well, sort of. My pants are corduroys , which basically are like embossed stripes. So in a way I successfully mixed and matched horizontal stripes with vertical stripes. Ha!

Mixing prints can be a challenge, no doubt. How about wearing stripes on stripes ? That can be tricky, too. But by pairing stripes of different sizes--in this case thicker stripes for my top and pinstripes for my pants--you can easily overcome any potential awkwardness. This trick allows for enough contrast between two clothing pieces.

Wearing a sweater at this time of year in this part of the world would probably sound ludicrous. But if you work in an office, that most likely is alright. The key here is to wear one in a lightweight and breathable fabric. Having it in colorful and cheerful-looking patterns to match summer is an option.

Can I eat it? Speaking of holding on to the holidays , here's another one. In another mall the decor was candy-themed, so there were lots of pink and blue. I just thought the polo with pink stripes I was wearing fit right into the background.

Oh yay, my first outfit post of the year! It's actually been a while since I last posted one. Well, the holidays are definitely over and sadly, they're not easy to forget, what with all the excess poundage that hound me every time I try on clothes! Oh yes, I'm fat, so I'm trying to divert attention from my midsection with some vertical stripes.

It's Friday and it's jeans day. But even in the simplest of outfits, stripes can make an impact. Take for instance this polo shirt, it's very basic but somehow the medley of grays, white and red tend to catch the eye ( I think it's the red ). But of course it should fit you well. I also toned everything down with black jeans and some gray shoes, allowing my striped piece to stand out even more.

It's been really cold at the office since I went back to work last Monday, and I think my colleagues would agree. So today I decided on a striped cardigan although I just wore a v-neck tee underneath. It's just a very basic can't-go-wrong black and white combination but I find the stripes really striking. Or maybe it's just me. But, but, but... there's something lurking underneath my pants:
