It’s been a long while since I last posted about a fragrance, which is a shame, as I have quite a number that I wish to share. I guess I’ve been both busy and lazy but no matter, here’s one now: Batuk Parfum by Wren Atelier . We got this bottle, along with a couple more, late last year, at the time when the house released new (and a few old) fragrances in their redesigned bottles and packaging (which for me more appropriately affords the brand that prestige it so rightfully deserves). My wife and I have both used it a few times before we were overrun with other more recent purchases. But thanks to our annual Buwan ng Wika paandar at the office, I was reminded of this beauty and so, pulled it out of hiding.

Halloween may be my favorite occasion but Christmas is admittedly not far behind. So just as I made a list of fragrance suggestions for Halloween , I think it would be a good idea to also come up with a similar list for this merry occasion. When Philippine fragrance house Wren Atelier announced that it was releasing an oud frag, I honestly wasn't that excited to get one right away. I know I'll be getting a bottle eventually but I felt no rush, perhaps because I already have a lot of oud in my arsenal. But then owner and perfumer RJ Lopena later teased Filipino references like calamansi and banana cue , so yeah, my curiosity was tickled. Hello, Manila Oud !

Named after a family of small, chunky, elusive birds, Wren primarily offers bespoke services along with the occasional, limited release, showcase fragrances. Hacienderos Parfum is the first.
