FRAGRANCE | Pine & Lime Pleasure EDP by Whiff: A pleasure for hot summer days

halfwhiteboy - Pine & Lime Pleasure EDP by Whiff Artisanal Fragrances 02

It's fairly common for most of us mortals to reach for freshies whenever days get warmer, and Pine & Lime Pleasure by Whiff Artisanal Perfumes is but one of a gazillion fragrances that fit the bill. Whiff is a local Filipino house that has a slew of different EDPs and EDPs, as well as room and linen sprays.

Pine & Lime Pleasure is sheer delight, headlined by a sweet citrus and pine combo. It's very fresh, its green character shining through while not being overbearing. It has a light zing and just a touch of bitterness, dutifully tempered by a mild sweetness. It's not acidic at all despite the lime. The sweetness, on the other hand, isn't much, so it doesn't weigh the scent down or give you a sticky feeling when it gets too hot. Perfect balance, I would say.

While the fragrance doesn't develop much, there's a sort of camphorous feel to it after maybe an hour. By this time, everything melts together in a pleasant blend, each individual note no longer as distinguishable as when it all started.

My only gripe with this fragrance is that its performance betrays its EDP concentration, behaving more like a cologne. It's the same thing with Pacific Rain, another Whiff release. However, Lime & Pleasure offers a little more complexity by comparison, which is enough to convince me to just go ahead with extra spritzes every now and then to compensate for its lack of power. And if it's any consolation, a 50ml bottle costs just Php 595. Not totally bad, in my opinion. You might want to give it a chance.
