Stylized backlit mural clearly exhibits the Japanese aesthetic of Nobu Hotel Manila. Sometime last June we got to spend a night at the fairly new Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila . Only less than 3 months since it formally opened, it holds the distinction of being the first Nobu Hotel in Asia ( Hooray for the 3rd world! ). Coupled with the Robert de Niro association, my expectations were of course high. Here's a rundown of our experience.

A little over a month ago this hampaslupa (vagrant) got to dine at Nobu Restaurant Manila , after which I ate nothing but instant noodles for weeks to compensate for the splurge. We were staying then at the fairly new Nobu Hotel  at City of Dreams Manila , so we thought, for whatever it's worth we just had to try the restaurant. Of course everybody knows Nobu, the Robert de Niro connection and all that. As such, expectations were naturally high. But did it live up to its reputation, not to mention all the hype surrounding it? Let me break it down for you.

De Niro, Scorsese, and DiCaprio may have wanted in but I was never as keen. It's not the type of place Kwittiegirl and I usually go to but we just spent the weekend at City of Dreams Manila. We left our hotel room for dinner and then went around to see what dreams exactly were here in this little city.
