Fact is, this resort has been around for a very long time now. On our boat ride en route to the resort, one guest quipped that she was visiting Club Paradise again after fifteen years. I suppose it's much older than that yet amazingly, they're still very much in business, not to mention they've been adding more rooms through the years. The resort is located on 19-hectare Dimakya Island, which is on the northeastern side of Busuanga. Along with a couple of private islands, Dimakya is but a dot on the map. And like most islands and islets in Palawan, it has some karst formation (albeit small) surrounded by white sand and a few meters into the sea, a drop into the abyss, which normally makes for good diving. Club Paradise boasts of its own house reef, along with a protected area for the...

Our cottage at Club Paradise: Nice and spacious

I mentioned in a previous post that after two nights in Coron town , My Bibe and I went to Club Paradise on Easter Sunday. We stayed there for another two nights at one of their twenty beachfront cottages along the resort's Sunset Beach , their main swimming area. We were assigned cottage no. 17, which was quite a long walk from the restaurant. You see, the cottages are built not too close to each other. You can actually fit another cottage in between two cottages and still have some tiny space left in between, which is good as it affords guests more privacy and less disturbance from neighbors. Here's a peek into our room: It's a very spacious room with a queen-sized bed. Instead of side tables, there's a headboard where you can place your stuff like mobile phones and books.

It was Easter Sunday. And after spending two nights in Coron town , My Bibe and I were off to our next destination, Club Paradise . It's in Dimakya Island, east of the main island of Busuanga. Coron is on the west part, down south, so we had to travel back to Busuanga Airport, our pickup point. We hopped aboard this oversized air-conditioned jeepney: It was a 20 to 30-minute ride north of the airport, through vast grasslands where cattle grazed. Until we reached this makeshift mini-port where our boat ride commenced: We advanced through lush mangrove forests, which was quite refreshing. Seeing all that green was very relaxing for the eyes. We enjoyed placid waters for maybe the first 10 to 15 minutes, passing by El Rio Y Mar, Club Paradise's sister resort, until we hit the open sea, beyond the protection that the main Busuanga island provides. It wasn't that rough because of the season but I could imagine what it would be like during the monsoon months. There...
