This monsoon season had me reaching out for jackets, hoodies, and what-have-you because it gets really cold in the office. Now let's throw in a poncho into the mix. I got this ethnic woven poncho from House of Nippon  (just find them on Instagram), where I also snagged my printed kimono cardigan a few months ago. It's nice and comfy, not to mention that it affords the wearer a certain kind of swag, probably because of its long and draping effect. And of course, it does the job of keeping you warm.

Bright colors, florals and tropical prints , and nautical style outfits are the usual suspects when going on trips that involve the sea, be it a beach getaway, a sailing expedition, or a fancy cruise. How about we add a touch of ethnic  into the mix?

Duck face: check! No, it's not Christmas and that is not a Christmas tree behind me. I mean, yes, it's a Christmas tree but my crazy colleagues and I have since put all sorts of stuff on it and playfully christened it the "Tree for all Seasons." I think I should post something about it one time, if only to show you our brand of insanity. Now anyway, the tree right now is decked up for Buwan ng Wika (Language Month, particularly for the Philippine national language). Meanwhile at work, we at our department have decided to dedicate a whole day where we're all garbed in traditional Filipino costumes. I see kids at school and their teachers do it, some even once for each week of August. Now why would school children have all the fun? Because of the absurdity of the idea, however, we put a little twist to it, which was to incorporate traditional pieces into our typical Friday wear so everyone would at least feel some level of comfort. Contemplating about where the hell is my food. Weekend's almost here again (Woot! Woot!). It was great the last time since it was a long weekend and we went on a little trip down south once more. Outfit-wise, my first day was about shorts and a polo in an ensemble that's loosely ethnic-inspired. I say loosely because it isn't exactly ethnic; just a faint resemblance of sorts. Maybe it's the front print of the polo, the beads, I don't know. Nevertheless, with this outfit I fit right in at the traditional Filipino-themed  Patis Tito Garden Cafe where we had snacks before checking in at our B&B.
