[Lookbook 06.21.2012] Me gone brogue
Been a little lazy in the dress-up department lately. But I guess scoring a new pair of shoes was all it took to get me back to my lookbook posts. And oh, this is only my third for the month and there's only a week left to make up.
One thing I realized I didn't have in my wardrobe was a pair of brogues. I know they're supposed to be a classic item that should be in every gentleman's closet but hey, I just didn't own one. Well, I used to have a pair or two at some point but they've long been gone.
So last week My Bibe said she was buying me something and I thought shoes, brogues in particular. And in just a few minutes I was choosing between black and this pair I'm wearing here. I would have wanted something in a darker shade of brown or something in burgundy perhaps but I couldn't find any. So I settled for this camel pair.
I thought blue would be perfect with this color, so I wore blue dress pants with a white shirt with pastel stripes. And because I've always thought there's something weird about the shirt's collar, like it's too high or something that my ties look off on it, I went on without any tie. But I served a bit of clashing colors with my argyle socks here.
I can already see I'd be wearing this a lot. Is there any classic piece of clothing, footwear or accessory that you should own but you don't?
