LOOKBOOK | Cropped and cuffed patterned pants

Image
'Sup, guys? I really have no idea what the cloth used for my pants is called. It doesn't quite look like houndstooth to me but I also have doubts whether it can be considered gingham . But who really cares, right? I find it nice, more so with its cropped fit and cuffed design. Now how else to go with it but a plain top? Yes, the black long-sleeved shirt is a very safe choice but a fail-safe one nonetheless. Sure, you can try mixing patterns but when you're running late, this shirt is the perfect dumb reach. Or a pullover. And then a pair of brogues to complete the look, with a no-socks look to celebrate the pants's cropped style. The two-tone design of the shoes also adds some depth and variety, I must add. The look I give whenever I see Monday. But really, let's greet Monday with an earnest smile. Discussing my future with myself. Care to join us, er, me? How do I look? So what do you guys think? It's a simple look that I thi...

LOOKBOOK | 14Apr2015: Silver against the sun

Image
I don't understand what kept me from wearing them but yesterday my pair of silver brogues finally hit the road close to four months after getting them. At this point the sun is shining blindingly bright, so I thought I'm going to give him a dose of his own medicine by reflecting everything back.

[Lookbook 10.14.14] Purple delight

Image
I thought of wearing a proper office shirt today--you know, that simple, classic, long-sleeved, buttoned type that's best worn with a necktie. But then I ended up not looking very business-like.

[Lookbook 10.09.2014] Color-taming

Despite all the deadlines and the gazillion more things to do, it's fun times at work this week as our HR is holding a wellness fair for us with a particular focus on style. Dubbed #OurSmartStyle, the week-long event features booths from various partners like Robinsons Dept. Store, Belo Medical Group, Fitness First, G2000, Basic House, and more. There's everything from discounted apparel and fragrances to free hair and makeup. So my colleagues and I checked out the photobooth at the lobby. But since 4 shots and 1 print clearly ain't enough, we also brought our own camera. And of course I got some shots for this outfit post.

[Lookbook 09.22.2014] Glad to be in plaid

Image
My birth month's almost over but I'm glad to have some "new old clothes." They're basically old clothes I've set aside to be given away because they don't fit me anymore. However, as I was sorting a pile yesterday, I discovered some of them fit me again--much to my delight, of course, that I had to reconsider giving away all of them. I kept a few, including the pants I'm wearing today. It was like having a bunch of new clothes, only they're really old ones.

[Lookbook 09.08.2014] Clean and khaki

So this is what greets us in the morning when we're about to leave the house: cats giving us some curious and judging stares. It could be "What's taking you so long? Go now and leave us in peace!" or "You're late. What are you looking at?" But then it could also be "That outfit's horrible!"

[Lookbook 09.04.2013] Wingtips are red, outfit is brown

Image
Yes, that's a red shoe you see in the photo. You can say that I'm bored with the usual black and brown, so why not go red?

Fashion cruising

Image
It was another round of stress-relieving "cruising" for me online, and today the cruise ship has docked at Cruise Fashion , where a sweet selection of clothing, shoes and accessories abounds. While it now retails both men's and women's pieces, Cruise actually started with menswear back in 1981. Personal stylists are available on hand to help customers in their stores although their online boutique is just as fine. Apart from its style blog, I also appreciate the site's Editor's Highlights section, which could come in handy to those who get easily overwhelmed at the sheer number of items to peruse. At least the choices are narrowed down for you here. Come to think of it, it may just be the online equivalent of Cruise's in-store personal stylists! I have a weakness for shoes, and I'm glad to have been introduced to some gorgeous brogues by Grenson , as well as some pointy, hip designs from Jeffery West. Grenson Dylan brogues in tan brown

[Lookbook 07.17.2012] Feeling blue, going green

Image
Blue and green make for a great combination, personally at least. Definitely not loud, the pairing is subtle without being boring. Here I paired some casual olive green trousers with a blue shirt. The white collar and front detailing of the shirt provide just the right amount of contrast to the ensemble. I then finished the look with a pair of camel brogues and a metal bracelet for accessory.

[Lookbook 06.21.2012] Me gone brogue

Image
Been a little lazy in the dress-up department lately. But I guess scoring a new pair of shoes was all it took to get me back to my lookbook posts. And oh, this is only my third for the month and there's only a week left to make up.
