It's a happy day because it's Friday!
This is my belated tribute to our national heroes. I intended to wear this flag-inspired polo from Collezione C2 last Monday when it was National Heroes' Day but we never left the house. So I wore it today instead.
Collezione is a local brand that was kind of like "just there" until it came out with their iconic My Pilipinas (My Philippines) shirt that featured the Philippine map. Think Lacoste polo but with the said map in place of the croc logo. It was that simple. But the polos became a huge hit and soon enough, every other brand was dishing out their own Philippine map shirts.
Well, Collezione couldn't copyright the map design obviously. Soon enough, the brand came up with new designs that play on the Philippine flag this time, this shirt that I'm wearing being one of them. And Collezione did a clever marketing strategy when it outfitted all field reporters of a local TV network with this same shirt during their coverage of last year's national elections. The "flag shirts" flew off the shelves. Luckily I got this one before the elections, before it was seen on TV.
As for the rest of my outfit, it's just jeans from Topman and a pair of high-cut Chuck Taylors.
