LOOKBOOK | Office casual in wine

I find wine (or maroon, bordeaux, burgundy - whatever you want to call it) to be a nice color. However, I also realize that it's not a very popular color choice among men in an office setting, at least in the area where I work. I mean, it's mostly blacks, grays, and blues that I see.

But wine can be a fun color and there are a lot of outfit possibilities around it. These maroon cropped pants, for instance, can easily be paired with a white shirt or maybe something in a light pinkish hue. But then I found a checkered button-down with maroon and olive green patterns that of course work perfectly with the pants's color. When combining pieces, it helps to anchor them on a color that's dominant in at least one of them.

As for shoe color, brown or something lighter like camel can be the perfect complement to wine. But then black also works, and I picked these black loafers because of the contrasting maroon details. Yeah, it's a little matchy-matchy but I'm owning it.

Meanwhile, let's play with some kitties. 🐱
