FOOD | The limited edition Cherries Jubilee by Monique Cakes
For once I'm not writing about fragrances or posting about my outfits, and it's all because of this very elegant-looking cake called Cherries Jubilee, which we've been enjoying at home since Valentine's last week. It's a limited offering from Monique Cakes, who's also responsible for the delectable Helen's Guava Cake.
Not only does it look good, but Cherries Jubilee also smells really good. I feel like wearing Tom Ford's Lost Cherry while eating it. The light pink frosting alone is so fragrant and it's generously infused with that distinct cherry flavor. You'll even find bits of cherries in it.
Slicing into this beauty, you get a nice and sweet cherry compote sandwiched in between layers of soft cake. The tartness of the cherries complements the sweetness perfectly. All the components are well-balanced, so the cake as a whole is not too sweet—which also means I can eat more. Haha! And if anyone tells you off that it's unhealthy, just tell them that cherry is a fruit and there's lots of it on top. So yeah, indulge.
Cherries Jubilee is priced at Php 3,500, with upgrade options. But hurry because like I said, this is a limited offering.
