LOOKBOOK | Lightweight blazer and shorts

On a whim I decided I'd wear a blazer and matching shorts to Art Fair Philippines last Sunday. It's no suit but there's something to it because the fabric of both blazer and shorts - which I bought separately (years apart in fact) - are an exact match, which is a textured meld of powder blue and white. I also have matching pants, which, when worn with the blazer, made me look like I was attending a summer wedding .

(Continued from Part 2 ) This is the last of three posts about the recently concluded Art Fair Philippines 2014 . I know it maybe too late (definitely too late!) to catch it but I'm hoping to show you some of the artwork exhibited at the event just in case you're interested in anything. That said, you can check with the art galleries concerned. *   *   *   *   *   *   *   When someone says art, paintings are what comes to mind first. But of course art isn't all about them. At the recent Art Fair Philippines 2014, I was also drawn to the sculptures and other creations that qualify as "display items" on your table, console, or shelf.   For instance, at the exhibition booth of Art Cube, I was wowed by the intricate designs and the sheer amount of detail involved in their Alice in Wonderland mixed metal sculptures by artist Daniel Dela Cruz. The artist responsible for them, Genepaul Martin, calls them "Sleepwalkers" and there's more of them in full color. Of course I had no idea who the artist was. It was My Bibe who knew him through Instagram and she was most excited to meet the guy and see his work up close. Represented by Secret Fresh , he was the only artist featured in their über cute booth that resembled some whimsical fantasy land. He must be that special. Although I just tagged along, I share My Bibe's appreciatio...

A piece by Iggy Rodriguez, Manila Contemporary I'm no art afficionado and I'll be the first to admit I know very little to nothing about art, but I'm glad we went to the Art Fair Philippines 2014 last Saturday. I certainly had a good time, snapping photos away with my phone, and the Php 150 entrance sure was money well-spent. The event ran from Feb. 20-23 with a special VIP preview last Feb. 19. It was held at the 6th and 7th levels of The Link car park. Only on its second year, Art Fair Philippines bills itself as the premier platform for exhibiting and selling the best in modern and contemporary visual art. The 2014 staging featured 28 galleries ( I didn't even know we had a lot of art galleries in the Philippines! ) and 7 solo exhibitions, none of which I recognize. Well, except for BenCab and Kenneth Cobonpue. Although the exhibitors have already packed up, their respective galleries are still very much open, which is why I decided to still post these photo...
