Got to wear my new shoes today. In a vapid attempt at justifying my purchase, I always say "It's meant to be" to somehow ease the guilt that comes with shelling out money. And this is why I say that this pair was meant to be: I originally spotted them at Prima Linea in Greenbelt 3, which were also available in another color but I loved this one better. Unfortunately, they didn't have it in my size, so maybe it was not meant to be, I thought. A week later while I was in Cebu, I saw them at a Linea Store in Ayala Center -- and they had it in my size! Meant to be after all!

As Sheldon (of The Big Bang Theory ) would say, dear Lord! Lots of things to do. The Holidays are also fast approaching and before we know it, the year's over. Dear Lord! Anyway, I have a little affair with red today. There's the bow tie, the belt, and the socks. Red goes well with pink anyway. And brown.

I am the Mighty Thor! Clearly I don't have the guns, though. Haha! I'm sensing a growing fondness for cartoon superhero t-shirts here. After The Green Lantern on Halloween , now it's someone from the Marvel universe. And I'm planning to buy more!

Not too happy today. With all this crap happening around I'm clearly struggling to be nice, patient, and a better person in general. Anger and hatred are filling me up, and it seems that even the smallest of stuff is adding up ounces to my tank. Now how do I unload, if not empty, myself of such? They're poisoning me. Maybe somebody is messing up with the time-space continuum or something. Well, at least I have something happy in my outfit today:

This was yesterday's look. Wasn't able to post because My Bibe and I went out to watch Stomp last night. And by the time we got home, I was too lazy to bother. Anyway, we had a great time together. We don't normally go out of Makati so it was a treat for us to venture into unknown territory. First of all, I'm not a fan of heavy traffic (but who is?), which is why I don't enjoy driving around at all. So we had to leave before five yesterday just to avoid most of the Friday rush hour chaos. Second, I'm not comfortable driving around when I'm not familiar with the roads, like which one's a one-way drive, where do I go left, where can I make a u-turn and all that stuff. Believe me, I had a good deal studying my route with Google Maps and with a lot of asking from colleagues.

It was quickly becoming another uneventful day until I noticed a very particular email subject in my inbox this morning. It was from Ayala Cinemas telling me I won two tickets to Stomp for this Friday's show at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). I just saw maybe two weeks ago that there was a contest over at sureseats.com and I joined, then completely forgot about it. Now that was unexpected. Today I wore brown pants from Havana & Co. that I got long ago from Prima Linea. I tried to veer away even just a bit from falling into an all-brown ensemble by wearing a gray Giordano pullover. And since it's so plain, I accessorized with an owl necklace that I sequestered from My Bibe . But that's about it because I put on a light brown jacket from Hallway and brown lace-ups from Zara. At least something isn't brown. And oh, the socks (from Urban Outfitters) aren't brown, too!

Today the tech world mourns the death of Steve Jobs, who finally succumbed to cancer. I'm staring at my iMac right now and am reminded that it really is one gorgeous piece of equipment. I am likewise reminded that it is but one of Steve's many contributions to the fantastic world of computing, just one of the impressive products of his sheer genius. I need not enumerate his array of inventions and innovations anymore because everybody knows about them, as he definitely has already left an indelible mark in all of us. Apple's radical-thinking co-founder will surely be missed. I'm back to grays today. I already picked today's outfit the night before, so any somber feelings related to Steve Job's demise that this ensemble may evoke are purely unintentional. I was just lazy. Lazy as I may have been, I definitely am still fond of this ombre pullover from Prima Linea. It's been with me for years now and I still love it. Notice on the side the what-I-call ...

After yesterday's near-monochromatic look, I decided to brighten things up a little today. Not that brown is a really bright color but it's the floral pattern on the shirt that lend some sunny vibe to my outfit -- sunny enough but not too loud either. And lest I fall into another monochromatic pit, I chose bluish gray pants to go with all this brown. The floral shirt is something from Prima Linea. It originally had a wrinkled fabric but after countless encounters with the flat iron, the wrinkles disappeared over time. I've never really ironed the shirt, just some steaming to remove unwanted creases. Still, the fabric smoothed out eventually.

Since yesterday my colleague, Jen , has been wearing the hat of my photographer. Unlike my existing all-female trio (Jas, Aple and Joanne), all of whom were approached by me, Jen volunteered. Well, it's more like she's "practicing" on me, as we'd like to call it in jest. But you know what, my daily shoot is pretty straightforward: I'm nearly always against a blank wall in the office, and close to the glass panels for some lighting. Outdoor shots are a rarity. In fact, my camera settings sometimes remain unchanged for a couple of days if the weather is consistent. But I'm happy I have someone new. Moving on with today's outfit, I realized I haven't worn a tie in a while. So today's the day. It's just one of my cheap SM Department Store finds, but good enough to top off today's outfit. Hey, it's value for money, and it goes well with my very old crumpled Martin Box shirt from Prima Linea and Memo brown dress pants. I u...

So I've had no Project Look Book  posts for the past two days. Monday I was sick, and Tuesday I wasn't able to get a ride (car's still in the shop for repairs). People were asked to go home at 1PM, though, because of inclement weather. I mean, it was just raining like crazy yesterday! Anyway I'm back to work, and I'm loving my trench a lot. Yes, I thought it was the perfect time to sport this trench coat from Topman. Because the weather here is hot and humid by default, I don't get to wear it that often. Underneath it I wore a bright blue shirt from Martin Box (available at Linea Italia) paired with blue dress pants from Sahara at SM. The shoes are from Traffic. I just want to share with you that it was strange to have perfectly lit photos today given the gloomy weather outside. We didn't even turn the lights on yet I found the pictures with just the right amount of light, some bordering on overexposed even. Check them out.

My Bibe 's off to Iloilo for work for the next three days and so I'm all alone with the cats again. Earlier this evening, at least three people told me they'll be waiting for today's Project Look Book  post. It's late and so here goes... I actually wore this shirt already for my project last February (see here ) but I'm pairing it with black pants this time around. Bringing a suit jacket along doesn't hurt either. I love the liveliness of the shirt's print even when the only bright color here is yellow, which is actually more like an accent only to the more dominant black and brown. It's Martin Box, a brand the Linea Italia group carries in all its stores. It may be purely coincidental but I seem to gravitate towards the brand's items. For one they fit well and they're also more affordable than most items in their stores. Okay, so that's why. Suit jacket (Merger); tie (from SM Department Store); tie clip (a gift from M...

I got myself a new pair of shoes from Topman about two weeks ago but haven't worn them until now because of recent weather patterns. I dared not wear them in the rain. However, after seeing the weather improve lately, I thought it was time to wear them. But then the weather was fickle-minded again yesterday so I was having second thoughts last night. In the end, though, I decided to wear them. I thought, if it did rain, my only problem would be when I'm getting in and out of the car to open and close the gate at home. Well, today was my lucky day. The shoes were quite affordable, actually. After all, they're just made of fabric and rubber. I likewise wore this striped tee, also from Topman, that My Bibe got for me. I wanted it but I wasn't too keen on shelling out more money for it. So, yahoo! For jeans, I opted for a lighter shade today and put on these tattered ones from Bonavita at Linea Italia, and the same white belt I wore two days ago . Brought along a li...

After green's prominence yesterday , brown dominates today's getup. I picked a short-sleeved shirt from Martin Box at Prima Linea. The lighter-hued patterns are actually sheer but it's mostly unnoticeable because it blends well with my skin tone. I actually appreciate how the fabric's manufacturers did it, blending sheer with the usual opaque into just one fabric. I think it's amazing. For trousers I went with my bluish gray chinos from Bench, just to break the monochrome. After all, my belt (from SM Department Store) and shoes (Zara) are already brown. And oh, my socks aren't brown! The day started warm and sunny. Then without warning, it rained by noon, followed by brief periods of sunshine in between what was mostly a wet afternoon. Now this is me confused with the weather: I wonder what it would be like tomorrow.

[Project Look Book - Extended Weekend Special] Tuesday, June 14, 2011

It's back to reality again for me. But it was a nice getaway for us nonetheless. And for my flight back to reality, I'm wearing the same jeans I wore (albeit for a short time only) yesterday. Also, I've been wearing the same pair of boots since Sunday. I actually didn't get to wear the ones I brought with me because I'm so in love with this new pair at the moment. T-shirt (Bench); jeans (Bonavita at Linea Italia); socks (H&M); boots (Aldo); bag (from yesstyle.com ).

No, we did not sleep again until two. In fact, My Bibe and I got up a bit early at nine to catch breakfast at one of our hotel's restaurants. Then we went for a stroll nearby, bought a couple of stuff, then it started to rain. My Bibe wasn't feeling so well anyway, so we retreated to our hotel. And I'm not complaining; I love our room (more from that in another post). The skies were clearer later that afternoon, so we decided to check out the hotel pool. And the view was just stunning (again, more on that in another post)! We were too lazy to go anywhere else after that so we decided to just have room service. First photo: short-sleeved shirt (Oxygen); tattered jeans (Bonavita at Linea Italia); boots, shades and wristwatch (all Aldo); bag (from yesstyle.com ). Second photo: swim shorts (Tommy Hilfiger).

I wrote yesterday that I should think about what to wear today after the similarities between my first two posts for the week. But laziness struck me again last night and I went for stuff that were easy to iron. A pullover would be nice. I picked this pullover from Prima Linea a few years ago. I got it because it reminded me at the time of that Prada collection (I forgot what season) featuring fading hues. Works for me. Pinstripe pants (Topman); shoes (Frank at Traffic).

It's a really striking color for today. But why not? The shirt's Martin Box that I got last Christmas at Linea Italia. I actually got the same shirt in two colors, orange and this one. I wore the orange one last January ( see here ). Curiously, while linking back to that post, I just realized that I'm wearing the same pants, the same tie, same tie clip, same belt, and the same shoes! Purely unintentional, I insist. Pants, tie, and belt, all from SM; shoes (Aldo); tie clip (Merger).

My God, it's only Thursday! Why does it seem like weekend's taking forever to come? And so the face... I've had this shirt for a long time now. A cheap one, actually, that I got from one of them racks of brand-less brands at SM Department Store. Paired it with pants from Havana & Co. at Prima Linea. Looking back, I feel my looks this week have been pretty much uninspired. Been so tired every night that I don't think much anymore about which clothes to pick and iron. As long as they're fairly easy to iron, then it's good enough. So I have to make amends tomorrow, Friday. And there's a glimmer of promise to that declaration hidden underneath my pants today: It's the second of three Billy Berck pairs My Bibe got for me from Urban Outfitters! I wore the first one in January ( see here ), and let's just see when the last pair will debut. Weekend, I want you now...

Toxic week. But at least it's over now although the toxicity prevails and will be continued on Monday. Anyway, I wore tattered jeans today. We're not supposed to in the office but I've debated it in my mind long enough. My main argument is this:

I'm so brown today. From my waist up, I look like I'm gonna hunt some crocodiles or go on an African safari. I think My Bibe got this for me on ebay. I just don't wear it that often because I find it a bit cumbersome to iron, what with all the pockets and buttons in the way. It's Paul Smith actually. And the red thread used on the buttons can only mean...
