11.11.11 it is, huh? To me it's just another date except that after the first twelve years of this millennium, we won't get to see such a curious pattern again until the next century on January 1st, 2101 (01.01.01). So okay, it is special because it doesn't come by often. And our last chance to revel in such an occurrence would be on December 12th next year (12.12.12), at least for those reading this post today (unless you get to live beyond a hundred years). Moving on, I'm motioning "crazy" with my hands in the photo below (moving in a circular pattern) for no particular reason other than the fact that I'm wearing a tee from local brand Mental . Maybe I'm going mental. If my memory serves me right, I think  My Bibe  got it for me last year at some bazaar. Mental has their own stores, though, scattered across several malls here.

Not too happy today. With all this crap happening around I'm clearly struggling to be nice, patient, and a better person in general. Anger and hatred are filling me up, and it seems that even the smallest of stuff is adding up ounces to my tank. Now how do I unload, if not empty, myself of such? They're poisoning me. Maybe somebody is messing up with the time-space continuum or something. Well, at least I have something happy in my outfit today:

Typhoon Nesat ( Pedring  locally) sure left one helluva mess after ravaging Metro Manila yesterday . Electricity was down, trees were uprooted, many areas were flooded (the U.S. Embassy included), parts of the seawall along Manila Bay were destroyed, billboards collapsed, houses and more structures damaged -- whew! At least today the weather was better, electricity has been restored, and people are starting to pick up the pieces again although some areas are still submerged in water, My Bibe 's dad and a colleague being among the victims. I'm just praying that everything will be alright soon. Very soon. Moving on, it was back to work today, and I took advantage of the still wet weather by wearing this Topman trench. It was just a gray pullover underneath and a pair of black pants to complete the look. And black shoes from Traffic. But I kept a surprise underneath my pants:

It's been a long week and I can finally stretch and relax. Cliché as it may sound but thank God it's Friday! I thought I'd wear my Topman feather necklace today. I felt like I had to maximize my spending on it so here goes. It's colorful enough already and because I decided on wearing these mint green jeans from Zara, I had to keep my top simple to tone it down a notch. After all, some peeps here already think my silver sneaks (also from Zara) are already "wild" enough for them. But I don't think so. The top, by the way, is a hooded pullover from Urban Outfitters. The belt is from Celio.

My Bibe and I have been together for 73 months already today! We have no real plans right now, especially since she's so tired at work. We probably would just celebrate over the weekend. Today I opted for something a bit more casual. The cardigan's from Topman, which I had with me for a long time now. Despite its age, I'm still in love with it as ever. Maybe it's the red color. Anyway, I kept it simple with just a Bench v-neck white shirt underneath, a pair of gray pants, and brown leather lace-ups from Zara. But oh, there's one of my Billy Berg socks again from Urban Outfitters. You'll see it in one of the succeeding photos.

It was a wet day. It's been raining nonstop because of a typhoon yet again (hope everyone stays safe). But I think we've seen worse yesterday when it was raining really hard and traffic was hell. Well, traffic was still hell today but to a lesser extent. On the bright side -- at least as far as my personal and trivial vainglory goes -- I was able to capitalize on the weather. I finally got to wear this military jacket from Urban Outfitters that I had for several months now. It was just too thick for the kind of weather we have here, so it was left confined to my closet ever since it arrived. Oh well, the downside of online shopping. I only had a v-neck shirt underneath since I never intended to take the jacket off in the first place, plus I didn't want to end up dripping in sweat either. The trousers are from Topman and the shoes, Aldo.  Here are a few more photos:

I'm so in an extended X-Men mode right now, wishing I had Magneto's powers. After a few typical Look Book shots, I started playing around. I played around even further with editing, and this was the result: Although it wasn't planned, I've decided just this lunch that I'm gonna make every post for the rest of the week Magneto-ish. At the same time, though, I'm including a more "normal" photo with each post. I almost forgot, I got a new haircut last Saturday at Park Jun's in Glorietta. I'm not totally satisfied with it, though. It's not that easy communicating with a Korean stylist who doesn't know me or my pathetically thin and limp hair very well. I was supposed to have my hair done at Fix Greenbelt but no thanks to the difficulty of finding a parking slot, I was late and could no longer be accommodated until after an hour. No thanks to the receptionist either, who thought she was the most beautiful creature that walked this ...

[Project Look Book - Weekend] Saturday, April 9, 2011

Image
Now this is a little unusual - a Look Book post on a weekend. My Bibe and I are in Tagaytay for the weekend as I write. We also dropped by Enchanted Kingdom earlier for our company's "Fun Familia," sort of like an annual timeout or outing for employees and their families. Well, we basically went there just to spend our Wizard Money. And this was what I wore: Yes, I'm wearing these weird-looking trousers I got from Kho Phi-Phi in Thailand last year. I asked the locals what they're called and they said putong (or was it pudong ?). Although I'm not solved on the information given, I have absolutely no idea what they really should be called. If you do know, please tell me.  Anyway, I also got this distressed shirt from the same lovely island. I love the Thai Buddhist print but I failed to show the back where the print is much more dominant. Maybe some other time. Slipped on some Sanuks, put on a straw hat from Zara and shades from Aldo, and I was good...

My God, it's only Thursday! Why does it seem like weekend's taking forever to come? And so the face... I've had this shirt for a long time now. A cheap one, actually, that I got from one of them racks of brand-less brands at SM Department Store. Paired it with pants from Havana & Co. at Prima Linea. Looking back, I feel my looks this week have been pretty much uninspired. Been so tired every night that I don't think much anymore about which clothes to pick and iron. As long as they're fairly easy to iron, then it's good enough. So I have to make amends tomorrow, Friday. And there's a glimmer of promise to that declaration hidden underneath my pants today: It's the second of three Billy Berck pairs My Bibe got for me from Urban Outfitters! I wore the first one in January ( see here ), and let's just see when the last pair will debut. Weekend, I want you now...

Weekend's finally here! Today was ironic. I wore this (long-sleeved) hoodie from Urban Outfitters only to be tortured by the still faulty airconditioning. And jeez, it was unusually warm today inside despite three portable airconditioning units and several electric fans! Anyway, after probably over a year of neglect, I got to wear this again: Cute, eh? It's not an official Starbucks merchandise, however. My Bibe bought it (pendant only) a couple of years ago from someone on Multiply.com. It's made of clay. I know we have several more including frappe versions but I don't know where they are. Jeans from Penshoppe ; sneakers, Zara.

Today's look is a personal favorite. I already forgot about this Hermes shirt until I chanced upon it while looking for stuff to wear for my old clothes theme last week. I was fascinated with the print and I asked myself why I haven't been wearing it. But whatever the reason is, it's irrelevant - I'm wearing it now! So I paired it with trousers from Urban Outfitters , though I was having problems with its length and size. Too late to press another pair of pants, I thought. But after today I'm definitely bringing it to a tailor for some alterations. The shoes are from Tyler which I got a couple of years ago. And can I tell you a secret? They're actually a size smaller for my feet (sshh!). They weren't available in my size at the time but I wanted them badly. You see, Tyler normally keeps just one pair for each size and model. So I'm feeling a bit of pinching in my feet whenever I wear them. The brown leather bag is from Zara . Today I also ...

I'm really frustrated with the faulty air conditioning in the office since last week. According to the maintenance guys, a purchase requisition for some parts was still in process. But I guess I'm more frustrated that I don't get to wear my jackets, that's why. Today I opted for a "fresh" look, something light and easy on the eyes. Shirt, Paul Smith ; pants, Dansen at SM. I'm actually glad that I'm finding more slim-fitting pants at department stores lately. Not that they fit perfectly but at least I now have cheaper alternatives that can somehow pass for what I'm really looking for. But of course underneath the calm surface are orange socks for some punch! But then, they're not just plain orange socks, as you can see below. Even more punch, eh? These socks are just part of several others - primarily wacky - that My Bibe got for me at Urban Outfitters online. Shoes, Zara.

Wore short sleeves today by Blue Soda, pants from Sahara at SM, jacket and brown leather bag from Zara . These colorful socks added some punch to another brown ensemble. My Bibe got them for me online from Urban Outfitters . These shoes I had for maybe two years now. I remember people thought that the detailing were my socks. By Frank at Traffic.
