LOOKBOOK | A black and white evening

Image
It was a black and white theme for our department Christmas party this year. It was also a leeway of sorts for some peeps who didn't want to go through the "hassle" of finding what to where because we were given the freedom to go either formal, casual, or whatever it is that we fancied as long as it's either all-black, all-white, or a black and white combo.

LOOKBOOK | Camo coordinates

Image
I suppose I needed the sunshine to wake me up. Although already showered and dressed up for work on a casual Friday, I was still sleepy. I managed to get through the day, though, and elicited a lot of attention with my outfit. A rather bold choice, wearing matching shirt and pants isn't exactly a common practice among us guys. But the idea appealed to me, especially after trying it already while on vacation last December where, incidentally, it was also a camo coordinated set that I wore. While that matching camo sweatshirt and joggers outfit was in a desert camo print, you can very well say that this is Camo on Camo Part 2. The print this time, though, is in a darker, jungle pattern with some blue thrown into the mix.

LOOKBOOK | 22Apr2015: Sexy hands

Image
I'm definitely not talking about my hands here, which are far from being sexy. It's this interesting s keleton hands necklace Kwittiegirl got me. No doubt it's a statement piece and I had some reservations about wearing it on a regular day. But then I thought if I could wear a razor blade necklace , then why not this one.

FASHION | Date night

Image
I already shared with you -- the ladies specifically -- some pointers on what to possibly give us guys as gifts this Valentine's . Not that we're expecting one really, but still. Well, now it's time to think about what to wear on your night out with your girl. I mean, you are going out on a date, right? So anyway, what's it going to be, a little formal in some fancy restaurant, or something a bit more casual? At any rate, bring a jacket that you can put over her shoulder if it gets a little too chilly. The more formal option Start off with a crisp white shirt, then trousers and a jacket to match. Top it off with a bow tie, a pocket square. Wear brown leather instead of black. And maybe you could ditch the watch. After all, why would you be keeping track of time when you have a lovely lady by your side? Try a cuff or a bracelet instead. Tropical wool jacket and suit trousers by Marc Jacobs . FASHION | Fresh picks from East Dane's fashion director

Image
Just went through a new batch of items from online menswear shopping site East Dane that have been anointed "Editors' Pick." Quoting fashion director Jonathan Evans, he said "Right now, it's all about paring things down. Colors should be a little more muted; graphics, a bit more subtle." His choice picks are spot on and I'm sharing a few of these with you. Soulland Sideshow Bob Shirt What's not to love about a crisp white shirt? Add to that a huge yet never overpowering print and I'm loving this shirt even more.

Make your wishes come true with East Dane's 'The BIG Event'

Image
Identities have been concealed and wish lists have been submitted. Now everyone at the office has already drawn his/her "baby" for our department Kris Kringle. How I wish my wish list looked a little something like this: Left to right: New York City map throw from Faribault Woolen Mills . Rollbahn A5 spiral notebook from Delfonics . Shine activity monitor (wearable tech: fitness and sleep monitor) from Misfit . Sentry chrono watch from Nixon . Black stone stainless steel insulated water bottle from S'well . Back flash refurbished Polaroid 600-Type camera kit, Instant Lab (which transforms digital images to analog Poloaroid pictures in seconds), and black and white instant file, all from Impossible . Leather strap watch from TID Watches . Oscar necktie from Alexander Olch . Bakelite hanging pendant lamp from East Dane Gifts . Well, with a very limited amount set as the minimum, it could be--no, it is--very, VERY far from the truth. But then maybe I...

[Lookbook 10.10.2014] Blade runner

Image
It was the last day of our week-long #OurSmartStyle wellness fair at the office today. Aside from it being our last chance to score some discounted stuff, it was also our last chance to exploit the photo booth. Unfortunately for my teammates and I, others had the same thing in mind as well, so our time in front of the photo wall was limited. And unfortunately for me and my narcissistic tendencies, it meant I couldn't use the mini-stage for my outfit post. Nonetheless I took to the "sidelines" and made use of other backdrops and props. Haha!

Cuff 'em and brace for more

Image
It's a given that unlike women, men have much less to work with in terms of accessorizing. But thankfully accessories designers have been pushing the envelope--however gradually--in providing guys with much more options. In this post I'm taking a look at some really cool cuffs and bracelets. Okay, I'm ogling at them. Fishing hook cuff by Miansai . A bracelet in malleable sterling silver that takes the shape of a fishing hook of all things! Now how cool is that!

Upgrade that backpack with some leather

Image
Yes, it's hard to let go of a backpack. It's functional, it keeps your hands free, and it's just plain easy to carry around. But sometimes the backpack can look a bit out of place if you're in an office attire, let alone a suit. It could even ruin an otherwise stylishly casual outfit. You can't be in jeans or shorts and sneakers all the time, can you? But still, you just don't want to trade that backpack with a briefcase or something. Fortunately designers of late have found ways to give that trusty backpack an upgrade that it won't look out of place in a business suit. The use of leather, of course, comes as no surprise. Here are some gorgeous leather backpacks that you can consider for those days when you just can't be too casual. J.W. Hulme Co. Continental Backpack A gorgeous rucksack design in a fantastic color, this backpack has 3 pockets and a padded tablet sleeve inside.
