Sorry for the late post; been both busy and really tired. So here I simply put on a pullover that I paired with black pants and black shoes. To dress it up, I brought a black blazer as well. Works well with our black Christmas-themed office space.

I feel like I'm overdressed today looking at this photo. But really I'm not. A blazer can really work wonders in dressing up any outfit. And how could I be overdressed when I'm only wearing a short-sleeved shirt underneath?

Attack of the gigantic me! Sorry for the late post. I've been busy last Friday because of our little Christmas decorating contest at the office. The atmosphere was so festive, I didn't have time to blog. My weekend, on the other hand, was restive and I still didn't have time to blog. The least I was able to do was sift through megabytes upon megabytes of images to use in this post. Festive as the day was last Friday, I was clad in black that day. My colleagues in our group all wore black to be consistent with our black Christmas theme. Here's how it looked:

Nearly everyone here at the office is busy decorating for Christmas. There's a small contest within our department, that's why. Clusters of cubicles were grouped to form teams, and judging will be this Friday. We're four in our group, and our rather ambitious concept has been constantly met with challenges. We're going for an elegant black Christmas with silver and plum accents. There will also be some Christmas art printed on transparencies. But would you believe we've been to several bookstores and shops already, and every single one of them ran out of stock for black colored paper? Major problem. So far we've only managed to hang a single transparency sheet and we need to complete everything by tomorrow night. Good luck to us! Today I wore mint green on gray, and for leather, I went for black. The whole outfit's pretty basic and safe. The gray blazer was in hand for warmth whenever the AC got too cold for comfort. The local weather bureau said we have a rainy week ahead. That doesn't sound so pleasant, what with Christmas coming and everybody's out shopping and attending parties. But we gotta deal with it. Today was a lazy day with just a gray pullover and black pants. Good thing I decided just before leaving the house to throw this scarf around my neck. It may not be freezing outside but inside the office it can be. Even with the scarf's basic black, white and gray color combo, it instantly brought life to my outfit. At least that's what I think.

This was yesterday's outfit. Apart from a busy day at work yesterday ( Why do I always feel harassed the day before I go on leave for a vacation? ), My Bibe 's really sick and she's got me worried. We're already in Cebu right now to visit my mom and sister but My Bibe's still sick, so I really couldn't enjoy this trip. I just hopes she gets better by tomorrow. Anyhow, after black and brown last Monday, it's black and blue for Tuesday. The blue isn't jeans, though, and no, I wasn't trying to pull off a Steve Jobs. I was just a bit lazy, that's why. Good thing I had this jacket on hand to break the walking boredom that is my outfit.

My day was entirely spent on one of several planning exercises for next year. Tomorrow we'll have another one. That said, I feel so drained by day's end. So I have to brace myself for another round tomorrow. And because I wasn't really going to spend my day doing my usual workload, I decided I'd wear jeans (and I was the only one in our group who did although few noticed). I definitely still had respect for Thursday, so I dressed the jeans up a bit with a long-sleeved shirt and leather shoes. I also chose dark jeans because they tend to look more formal than those in lighter shades. I accessorized with a necklace and some beads.

A little bit under the weather today with a runny nose. With the rain and relatively cooler weather, it really is best to simply stay at home and probably enjoy some chicken noodle soup. But then there's really lots of things to do at the office, and I was on leave already yesterday. So bring it! Outfit-wise, there's nothing much going on today; just a mix of stripes and some sheen. Not too happy today. With all this crap happening around I'm clearly struggling to be nice, patient, and a better person in general. Anger and hatred are filling me up, and it seems that even the smallest of stuff is adding up ounces to my tank. Now how do I unload, if not empty, myself of such? They're poisoning me. Maybe somebody is messing up with the time-space continuum or something. Well, at least I have something happy in my outfit today:

This pretty much sums up my mood today: I hit someone on the road on my way to work this morning. The kid came out of nowhere and suddenly ran across the street. So despite running at 20 kph or less (I was still within a few meters from our house and just made a right turn at a corner), I still hit the stupid kid. More stupid was the father who was sitting comfortably on one side of the road and nonchalantly leaving his four year-old to play on the streets like it were a playground.

My thighs are pretty sore from jogging and walking last night. It was expected, of course, because I haven't had any physical activity in months. With my body jolted out of "hibernation," I expect the soreness to linger for another day or two. But that shouldn't deter me from pursuing another jog-and-walk tomorrow. I really have to. Today I'm wearing a V-neck knit number from Giordano. I paired it with one of my trusty finds from MBK in Bangkok. It's got no specific brand, actually, and I couldn't care less. It's the cut I love most about these pants. The blazer, on the other hand, is from Topman.

Twice I've tried buying stuff at Forever 21 in SM Makati, and in both of those trips, I've left the store empty-handed. Not that the stuff were all bad but nothing was just singing to me (maybe next time). I was tempted to buy a pair of boots that were really cheap at around 2,200 pesos ($51). I loved the style but the material was just not good. The leather, which I suppose wasn't really leather at all, was so thin I'm afraid it would tear off easily. Disappointed, I went around the department store instead. After all, it's been a long while since my last visit. I indulged in a couple of cheap thrills: some accessories and a t-shirt. Then I got stuck at the Rajo Laurel for Wharton racks. I was surprised, yet pleased, to see the collection grow! There were more shirts now and I snagged three that I really liked, one of which I'm wearing today.

Today the tech world mourns the death of Steve Jobs, who finally succumbed to cancer. I'm staring at my iMac right now and am reminded that it really is one gorgeous piece of equipment. I am likewise reminded that it is but one of Steve's many contributions to the fantastic world of computing, just one of the impressive products of his sheer genius. I need not enumerate his array of inventions and innovations anymore because everybody knows about them, as he definitely has already left an indelible mark in all of us. Apple's radical-thinking co-founder will surely be missed. I'm back to grays today. I already picked today's outfit the night before, so any somber feelings related to Steve Job's demise that this ensemble may evoke are purely unintentional. I was just lazy. Lazy as I may have been, I definitely am still fond of this ombre pullover from Prima Linea. It's been with me for years now and I still love it. Notice on the side the what-I-call ...

It's really sad to hear that up to now there are still areas in Luzon that remain flooded, no thanks to the back-to-back typhoons that hit the country last week. TV footages reveal such an unsettling sight, with people on the roofs of their houses, helplessly waiting to be rescued. It's even more unsettling to learn that rescue boats are very limited, so it takes forever to move everyone to safety. And then even if people are rescued, in some areas they've got nowhere to go after because there's just flood everywhere. It also doesn't help that the rains keep coming and every single dam out there is releasing humongous amounts of water to maintain levels that are safe for the dams. I just hope this nightmare ends very soon. Good thing, though, that a lot of people and organizations are lending a hand, including the company that I work for. But just when is the President himself visiting the typhoon and flood victims? When? Oh, well. On with today's outfit,...

Typhoon Nesat ( Pedring  locally) sure left one helluva mess after ravaging Metro Manila yesterday . Electricity was down, trees were uprooted, many areas were flooded (the U.S. Embassy included), parts of the seawall along Manila Bay were destroyed, billboards collapsed, houses and more structures damaged -- whew! At least today the weather was better, electricity has been restored, and people are starting to pick up the pieces again although some areas are still submerged in water, My Bibe 's dad and a colleague being among the victims. I'm just praying that everything will be alright soon. Very soon. Moving on, it was back to work today, and I took advantage of the still wet weather by wearing this Topman trench. It was just a gray pullover underneath and a pair of black pants to complete the look. And black shoes from Traffic. But I kept a surprise underneath my pants:

Happy birthday to my sister! Just two more days and it's my turn to age another year. Today My Bibe remarked she hasn't seen this vest I'm wearing for the longest time. Me neither. I got it from Onesimus at SM Department Store. It has one button underneath and a zipper on the side. Save for the herringbone pattern in front, it's all linen, a fabric I don't like that much because of the difficulty in ironing it entails. But because there's not much fabric to this vest, I let it slide. Apart from the vest, my outfit today was comprised of a white shirt from Celio (with sleeves rolled up for a laid-back vibe), metallic trousers from Merger, and brown shoes from Traffic. The reason for all the brown was my sheer laziness in changing bags. In lieu of a watch, I wore a bracelet I got from a flea market. No hidden surprises with my socks today; they're all brown.

I got to wear my Bosquejo razor blade necklace again today. This time around, I wore it over a white shirt that's buttoned all the way up to the collar. Because the necklace is already too much, I kept everything else simple with gray pants and black shoes. I did put on some more accessories, though: a watch, a bracelet, and a ring.

Yay, it's September already! It marks the beginning of the "Ber" months once more and already, we're counting down the days till Christmas (fact is, I've been listening to Christmas songs all day). In fashion magazine-dom, it means the most important issue of the year. As for me, though, it means my birthday's fast approaching. Don't mind the overexposed photos above. They were obviously mistakes but I didn't discard them because while going through my shots today, I actually took a strange liking to them. So I decided to include some of them in this post. As for the more "correct" ones, you can check them out right after the jump.

Finally, some rest! I'm starting the long weekend a day earlier with My Bibe . So I'll have Friday through Tuesday next week free of work. (To my readers outside the Philippines, we have back-to-back holidays next week, Monday being National Heroes' Day and Tuesday marking the end of Ramadan.) I wore pink today, a vintage Dior that we've thrifted somewhere. A colleague even remarked that it's not something available today, that the fabric was different. Our conversation led to our moms who wore these really short dresses in the 70's, us marveling at how good the fabrics were back then. So I perfectly understand My Bibe 's obsession with vintage clothes. And man has she been getting a lot of them from ebay! Anyway, I put on these gray pinstripe pants from Topman to go with the shirt. I would have worn brown shoes by default but I opted instead for these black ones from Traffic because I wanted to wear a non-leather belt. I went with this striped red...

Was having tummy problems this morning so I only reported for work after lunch. The outfit I prepared last night was for a cold, rainy day since apart from raining so hard last night, thunderstorms were to be expected today according to weather forecasts. Well, it did rain this morning but by noon, the sun was shining like it was summer. I didn't have time to pick something else and just went on with what I originally prepared. So my meant-to-be-for-a-rainy-day outfit consisted of this pink knit pullover from Celio, black pants from Bangkok, and my new black slip-ons from Traffic. Needless to say, I ditched the jacket I prepped. The black leather bag, which I had for some time now, is from yesstyle.com . It's really huge but I love it anyway.
