It's all for the boots.

I decided to take these boots out for a spin because I haven't worn them in a year. I love the quirky design - plain white boots splattered with black paint - which is why I bought them in the first place. However, I admit that it's not the easiest to wear. I think that explains why I almost never get to wear them.

The last time my feet were in these boots, I was clad in a nearly all-black ensemble. Today, though, I thought about going in the opposite direction with an all-white outfit. I know it's "challenging" enough wearing white pants. How much more when you're clad in head-to-toe white? Well, what a crazy proposition when you're supposed to be as carefree as you can be because it's a Friday!

I know my socks wont' really show because I'm wearing boots but I still wanted my outfit to be really coordinated. Hello, cow-print socks!

A brief moment of thought because Friday means that it's almost Monday again.

How about you, are you comfortable wearing head-to-toe white? Confident enough that you're no slob and that you'll still be as pristine in the evening as you were when you started your day?

FYI, I made it through the day without spilling anything on my outfit. Let's do this more often then.

A few weeks ago, I found myself wandering inside Bench Powerplant Mall. And what else would catch my eye but two fragrances by their lonesome twosome, positioned far away from the rest of the brand's scent offerings. They're Basil & Neroli and Green Cedar , both EDTs and part of the  Bench Better Made line . The frags are purported to be vegan and cruelty-free. They come in 125ml dark brown glass bottles and brown paper cylindrical boxes. Nice packaging there except for the cheap, plastic cap. No big deal, though, since they're just Php 428 apiece.

LOOKBOOK | Barong Tagalog and sneakers for 'Buwan ng Wika'

Looking oh, so dignified here. Although the celebrations are normally concentrated in elementary schools, August is Buwan ng Wika (Language Month) in the Philippines. Along with dressing up in various traditional Filipino costumes, schools usually hold programs and contests showcasing the national language and traditional Filipino songs and dances. Our department decided to join in the fun by designating a special day yesterday where everyone was required to wear a traditional Filipino costume reinterpreted for modern times. Two years ago when we first held this event, I found myself wearing an ethnic-designed shirt with a malong . This year I decided on a Barong Tagalog , considered our national formal wear for men. But no one wants to go all formal on a Friday, so I wore my Barong Tagalog with sneakers . I thought, if a full-on suit works just fine with sneakers, a barong would be just as perfect with this type of footwear.
