This is a relatively strange one. But coming from Diptyque , which released that cumin bomb of a fragrance in L'Autre , I'm not surprised. In fact, Florabellio appears pretty normal next to it.

I first came across Diptyque 's Kimonanthe at their shop in Rockwell, Makati a few months ago. The bottle was different from what I'm accustomed to seeing at Diptyque counters. It was a boutique exclusive, I was told by the SA, along with Benjoin Bohème , Ôponé , and a slew of other goodies that apparently are part of the house's La Collection 34 . Choosing which bottle to get was hard but we went home with Kimonanthe first.

Just days ago as I was passing by the Diptyque boutique at the mall, I noticed that there were more bottles on display than usual, so I dropped by. True enough there were three new bottles on the rack. However, they weren't new releases, as a quick scan on Fragrantica showed that they were from the 70s and 80s, and yet I've never seen them before in any local store. I tried them on and liked all three. But since I can't have them all in one go, I was forced to pick just one. For now.

L'Eau des Hesperides by Diptyque is an instant perk-me-up with its heady, minty orange opening salvo. It's literally cool, refreshing, and quite strong at the start. Compared to another Diptyque release with a prominent citrusy orange opening, L'Eau de Tarocco , the orange here is much more pronounced, like it's on steroids. It's all at once zesty, sweet and bitter. It even borders on being cloying, to be honest, so don't overspray, more so because this note doesn't leave so easily.

Compared to my posts about full bottles--which are mostly positive because I already like them in the first place, that's why I bought them--Vial Trials are hopefully less one-sided since they were just given to me; I didn't pick them. This sample, Tempo EDP by Diptyque , has been with me for several months now. I love that it's a 10ml sprayer, which is quite generous for a freebie (I must be a very good customer then). I love it so much that I still haven't used it, as if it were something so precious I didn't want to part with. But I have to use it, so here goes.

Been wearing this one for a few weeks now and I love it. V olutes by Diptyque , my first try at the French perfume house's wide array of fragrances , did not disappoint.
