My thing for coords doesn’t seem to end. Here I am again, this time in a dark olive, zipped pullover and pants set from MN+LA (Manila Meets LA)  that I’ve had for a while now. The fabric’s really soft and comfy, you just feel instantly relaxed. Finished the look with white sneakers to break the monochrome.

Was going through my photo gallery and saw these pictures from last year. When I wore this outfit, I took a chance on this boxy, cropped, short-sleeved shirt , not sure if I would look good in it. It’s from a local brand called ab clo. & lifestyle  that I discovered through persistent Instagram ads. I do like their general aesthetic of vintage-inspired pieces of cropped shirts with boxy fits, really baggy jeans and trousers, and whatnot. This piece here alludes to uniforms of diner waitstaff, and I’m really digging the vibe. At the time, the blue striped ones were really popular, so I went against the flow and picked this red one instead.

And my obsession with loose-fitting clothes continues. I'm thinking, the wider, the better, so tried these rust brown wide-leg pants on and it was instant happiness. Although not exactly flare pants, I feel like I'm stepping into the 70s. Never mind that I needed some added height from a pair of chunky loafers to pull it off. Otherwise, I'd be tripping over myself because the pants are just too long for me even when I tucked my t-shirt a little higher for a high-waisted look .

Continuing my love for relaxed fit clothing , I wore this oversized pullover for another very casual day at the office. Apart from it being very comfy, it also comes in quite a lovely color—aquamarine, I believe. It's more greenish compared to aqua, which is more on the blue side of the spectrum.

Sporting a dual colored shirt here. I don't know but when I saw this online, I was instantly attracted to the clean image the white and powder blue color combination was projecting. It reminded me of the overall vibe of this powder blue suit I once wore to a wedding. I seldom do it but here I decided to wear the shirt all buttoned up to the collar . According to my colleagues, I looked like a priest or a really good boy, which couldn't be farther from the archetypal me.

Haven't worn my kimonos in a really long while, so I guess it's time for some casual, lightweight layering with kimonos . Here I'm just wearing a plain black tee underneath, paired with some linen pants and loafers in complementing colors. The result is effortlessly casual yet still stylish.

Except for that red piece that's part of a typical Katipunero costume, I don't think I've ever worn a bandana around my neck before. I really don't know why I haven't because it's such a timeless and effortless way to accessorize. But there's always a first time for everything, right?

I normally associate piqué  with polos, short-sleeve ones in particular. But when you find a long-sleeve version, then well and good because while still casual, I think a long-sleeve piqué polo is somehow dressier than its short-sleeve cousin. Works well with jeans, too.

I'm such a peacock, yes. So let's take this forgotten peacock feather printed shirt for a spin, which I haven't worn in a really long while. About time, right?

You're on a quick out-of-town getaway with your love and you're going out for dinner. What do you wear? While the restaurant isn't your fancy fine-dining spot and is in fact very informal, it would still be a shame wearing shorts and a t-shirt next to your lady who's in a casual but lovely dress, now wouldn't it? I still kept it  very casual with shorts , though, but I picked a  white shirt with patches  to dress it up just a wee bit. Because of the patches's positioning, I guess the shirt's meant to be kept untucked.

It's probably easier to wear a plaid shirt than plaid pants . Maybe it's because most pants are plain, so wearing a printed or patterned top doesn't really become a problem at all--unless matching colors already is a challenge for you to begin with. But wearing plaid pants shouldn't be hard if we go by that logic on wearing a plaid shirt with plain pants. Just do it in reverse.

Kwittie Boy (our white fluffy ball of fur) looking at my shoes, wondering why such footwear on a Monday. Is Monday your most dreaded day of the week? Yeah, and why do Mondays tend to be so stiff? Would it help if we dress a little more casually so we could feel just a wee bit better about the start of another week? Let's have casual Mondays then! Another unplanned trip to the mall yesterday netted me two new pairs of shoes from Collezione C2 . The brand calls them Wataru shoes and they couldn't be more perfect for summer. They're essentially espadrilles , having that same rope sole that characterize such footwear, but with a modified design. They're quite comfy, too, and I just couldn't resist wearing them to work today.

It's usually all bright colors , florals, and tropical prints we see as the summer heat marches in. It's a good thing, no question, because they all look good under the sun. But whites,  pastels and other pale shades  also offer another option for keeping ourselves fresh-looking amid the heat. This white polo shirt with pastel blue accents I'm wearing is but one example.

It was a black and white theme for our department Christmas party this year. It was also a leeway of sorts for some peeps who didn't want to go through the "hassle" of finding what to where because we were given the freedom to go either formal, casual, or whatever it is that we fancied as long as it's either all-black, all-white, or a black and white combo.

As staples in every man's wardrobe, plain shirts afford the wearer ease in pairing things up and accessorizing. They're like blank canvasses that you can build on each time. Printed shirts , on the other hand, usually demand attention, even more when they're loud and colorful. So when putting together an outfit, the key is to find pieces that complement, rather than compete with, printed shirts. Now how do we deal with butterflies?

Who doesn't love Fridays? Aside from heralding the start of every weekend, don't we all just love that we can ditch the stiffness of formal corporate wear and go casual ? I know some fashion pundits lament the fact that casual has become too casual these days. Of course I'm just as guilty as everyone else, what with me sporting nothing but a t-shirt and jeans combo with sneakers on Fridays at work. But in this case I'm trying to keep it a little dressed up. Just a little.

It was a pleasantly cold day in Baguio City. It wasn't too cold that I still got to wear shorts but a little nippy at times that I needed a jacket. It was a lightweight blazer that I brought with me. The blazer and shorts combo is not something I usually wear because, well, it's uncomfortably hot and humid in Metro Manila. Besides, it's not something that I can wear to the office, so I'm left with weekends and other days off as the only occasions to wear them. But then the thought of it simply escapes my mind each time.

I'm a firm believer in wearing pants with the right fit . The long and short of it is that it looks nice when your trousers have that tapered look, hugging you in the right places and yet leaving room where it should. But sometimes, just sometimes, it's also nice to break away and just let loose .

So this was officially my first day back to work (not counting the days spent working at home) after hospital confinement. As luck would have it, I guess, my first day wasn't even at the office as I was attending a 2-day conference at a hotel. Consider it my temporary office anyway. I didn't want to be all suited and stiff. I wanted something a bit more relaxed but which would still qualify as an outfit that's office-appropriate that could easily transition to happy hour at some pub while waiting out the rush hour traffic. A fit for Friday outfit , yes. I started off with a business shirt from T.M. Lewin . I love that they don't simply make shirts in small, medium, and large but in a combination of various measurements for, say, collar and sleeve length. I've had several runs with other brands before where the shirt fits nicely around your body but the sleeves are either too long that slouch just above the cuff or where I'd turn blue if I insist on butto...

Our little girl always wants to be part of the scene. With t-shirts being de facto Friday wear at the office, the sight of someone in a buttoned shirt comes as a surprise to many. In my case colleagues were wondering why I was, in their own words, "so formal," at least until they noticed that I was wearing joggers and sneakers.
